On 2nd Friday October 13, guided tours of featured altars depart at 5, 6, and 7 p.m. After the walking altar tour, tour groups will hop on the 2nd Friday Trolley and head to the Longmont Museum for their gigantes and altar opening exhibition. The trolley will bring groups back from the museum to the starting point.
Tickets are $5 in advance (first come first serve), or $8 night of tour (based on availability). Space is limited! Purchase thru PayPal below. SOLD OUT - Downtown Altars will be displayed through Nov. 3. Please use the 2nd Friday map (link above) for a self-guided tour to 28 altars.
Ticket holders will meet in the 300 East Parking Lot at the Los Arcos artwork near the alley/breezeway crossing.
We'll start with a guided walking tour of five featured Downtown Business Altars. Business owners will share their altar themes and history. Then, we'll head back to the 300 East parking lot to hop on the 2nd Friday Trolley with David Lewis. The Trolley will drive to the Longmont Museum and drop off tour groups to see the museum's signature display of gigantes and altars made by local artists. On the way, your tour guide will share the history, traditions, and local adaptation of this Central American holiday that is spreading worldwide.
Thanks to Sticker Giant for providing the Marigold stickers for the event!
