Call for Bands for SVVSD High School Reunion

Downtown Longmont Creative District seeks band with St. Vrain Valley School District ties to perform at June 9th SVVSD High Schools Reunion concert.

Longmont, Colorado – April 17th, 2016 – The St. Vrain Valley School District (SVVSD) 4th annual High Schools Reunion will take place in Downtown Longmont on June 9th from 6-9 p.m. The reunion will coincide with the first Downtown Summer Concert on 4th Avenue between Main and Kimbark. Boulder County-based band The Goonies will play all the hits from the 80’s.

To start the show with sounds of SVVSD, the Downtown Longmont Creative District has put out a call for bands with St. Vrain Valley School District ties to perform in the opening time slot from 6-7 p.m. These bands must have some association with SVVSD – band members must be alumni, current students, teachers, faculty, staff, or administrators. In addition to performing in the opening time slot, the winning band will receive a $150 Downtown Gift Card, as well as recognition on the event website and social media.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 5th. Interested bands must submit the following information to ldda@longmontcolorado.gov:

  • Band Name
  • Sample of band’s music: attached to e-mail, link to website, or hard copy to the LDDA at 528 Main St.
  • Band contact name
  • Band contact phone
  • Description of SVVSD association

Alumni from all graduating years at all SVVSD high schools – Longmont, Skyline, Silver Creek, Niwot, Erie, Mead, Frederick, Lyons, Olde Columbine and the St. Vrain Online Global Academy – are invited to attend the reunion. Registered alumni are also invited to stay downtown after the concert to catch up and continue the fun! To RSVP and for more information, visit downtownlongmont.com/reunion-rsvp/

The reunion and concert are both free to attend, and will include local Longmont craft beer, cider and wine, downtown food vendors, kids’ activities, music, dancing and more! Alumni are encouraged to wear school colors.
