Dreams of downtown Longmont becoming an Arts & Entertainment District are Becoming a Reality

Those were the words of Longmont Downtown Development Authority executive director Kimberlee McKee way back in June 2011.

The occasion was a gathering at the Dickens Opera House of about 75 volunteers who had spent the previous year formulating a plan to transform the downtown into an Arts and Entertainment District.

At the meeting an 85-page report was unveiled containing 25 pages of action items, all geared toward creating an Arts and Entertainment District. The report has not been sitting on a shelf collecting dust.
