Details
A pinewood derby model car race will benefit a local non-profit that serves single parents and children.
Longmont Public Media will "live-stream" the races on Longmont channel 8 and YouTube to maximize community participation while observing social-distancing. Model cars will drag race on a 4-lane, 60 foot long track to an electronic timed finish. The starting line is 13 feet in the air and the cars will race down the main staircase toward the front door within the Old Town Marketplace at 332 Main Street. In the parking lot behind the building (east), will be a car show including members from CAM Car Meets.
