Click here for more info! Faces of the Creative District: Highlighting our Youth Members We are so excited to have our youth involved in the creative district! Supporting our younger artists is a key factor in sustaining our community - and a way to show our appreciation for all the talent that surrounds us! Meet Emmett Ditslear What are you up to? I am in Junior Year of High School at Skyline, I play bass in a rock band called Voltage 85, and I am on the Innovation Center Aquatics Robotics team as a mechanical engineer. I do some digital art for fun. What got you interested in your creative field? I saw someone playing bass at the Acoustic Jam at 300 Suns Brewing, and I asked my mom if I could get bass lessons. When did you start learning/doing your craft? The summer after 5th grade, when I was ten. We started the band four years ago after doing a summer band camp. Do you have any goals related to your craft? I want to get as good as I can, grow as a soloist, and just get better and better. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Or 10 years? I think I will always play the bass. I’m not sure I will always be in a band. I want to be an engineer for a living. What do you want people to know about you? Voltage 85 has grown a lot and we do gigs at festivals, breweries and other events. The Aztecs and other Nahua people who lived in what is now central Mexico held a cyclical perception of the universe and saw death as an integral, ever present part of life.
