Join artist Michelle Sepulveda for a 2.5-hour workshop that blends mindful portal weaving with guided reflection
What to expect:
We’ll begin with a short grounding breathwork and meditation to center the mind and body
Learn about the origins through the meditative process of creating an Ojo de Dios (God’s Eye) —also envisioned here as a personal portal—you’ll explore themes of realignment, grounding, and self-awareness. We’ll weave with intention, allowing color, texture, and form to guide your process. Students will learn five different weaving patterns on a 8 point portal using dowels & yarn
The session will close with journaling prompts designed to deepen your insights and help you integrate your experience. You’ll leave with a meaningful woven piece—either one 11-inch or two 5.5-inch Ojos—that serves as a lasting reminder of balance and purpose.
All materials provided. No prior experience needed—just an open heart, mind and curious hands.
Meet your instructor: Michelle Sepulveda
I am a Chicanx artist driven by curiosity, cultural connection, and a deep appreciation for creative expression. Born and raised in Brighton and Ft. Lupton, Colorado, my artistic journey began at a young age, nurtured by my family’s encouragement to explore my talents and embrace what sparks my imagination. My grandmother, in particular, played a pivotal role in shaping my creative process—teaching me patience, reflection, and the beauty of experimentation through art, baking, and crafting.
Fascinated by the world around me, I use mixed media & fiber, folk art to weave elements of my Chicana/Indigenous heritage with a playful and thought-provoking approach. My work often challenges societal norms while honoring the traditions and stories of my ancestors. I am drawn to non-traditional materials, allowing my inner child to guide me in discovering new ways to create and express myself.
