WHY WOULD ANYONE HOST A BOOK READING AT A CAFÉ INSIDE A CHEESE STORE?

Cheese Importers is not just a "cheese store". It is Colorado's finest seller of the finest cheeses on the planet. It is a multi-story emporium of all things French, from textiles to toys to doodads. It is home to the Moxie Café, which features delicious homemade bread, yummy sandwiches and delightful drinks.

Imagine one of those Starbucks-in-a-supermarket situations, but replace the nauseating corporate sterility with a celebration of human artistry.

Now, imagine a 19th-Century historical novel straddling southern France and southern Indiana, peppered with a cast of French characters--including a couple who bake delicious homemade bread.

Now, cast aside any expectations you might have for a 19th-Century historical novel featuring French breadmakers and imagine if it were written by Gregory Hill, Colorado's finest literary satirist.

Do it make sense now?

Attendees can expect Hill to read from Sister Liberty and to strum and sing some of his wit-laden songs, all interspersed his typical semi-anarchic, free-flowing conversation with the crowd.

Francophones are encouraged to test Hill's tenuous grasp on his langue préférée.

"As satiric as it is thought-provoking, this acerbic tale of enlightenment delights."
