Longmont Downtown Development Authority Governance

The Longmont Downtown Development Authority (LDDA) is governed by and derives authority from Colorado Revised Statutes Part 8 of Article 25 of Title 31; and City of Longmont enabling Ordinance No. 0-82-76, passed by Longmont voters in 1982. It's seven member Board of Directors is appointed by Longmont City Council.

Within the LDDA Boundary is another district, the Longmont General Improvement District #1 (LGID). LGID was created in July of 1966 by petition as opposed to by election. The LDDA Board also manages the Longmont General Improvement District #1 on behalf of the City.

The LDDA’s Master Plan of Developmentcaptures downtown’s economic condition and identifies opportunities and constraints. The Plan sets future work plans to implement the goals, policies, strategies and action steps.

The Downtown Parking Fund is a City of Longmont fund that is administered by the LDDA.

The Longmont Creative District is also directed by the LDDA.
