Crochet in the Round - take your beginner crochet skills to the next level by learning how to crochet in the round. This unlocks all sorts of projects including flat round shapes like coasters and scrubbies, to 3D shapes like amigurumi and plushies. Participants should already have beginner knowledge on how to crochet in a row and use basic stitches.

Target skills for this class include: magic ring, increases in the round, decreases, and how to close a 3D work. You are welcome to bring your own materials if you have them (hook, yarn, stitch markers, scissors, tapestry/darning needle). Hooks, yarn, and stitch markers will be available for purchase in class ($5 materials fee to be collected at the beginning of class- cash or check).

Meet our instructor:
Kathleen is a hospice music therapist who loves to crochet. She learned how to crochet during the pandemic to help develop healthy coping skills and a new hobby. Kathleen enjoys creating meaningful crochet pieces including custom dog and cat ornaments and plushies. Kathleen has experience teaching music to all ages (K-12, college level, and an 84 year old who wanted to learn bassoon), and is branching out now to teaching crochet in her local community. When she’s not crocheting, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, traveling, gardening, and listening to music.
