From classic cinema to contemporary Japanese artists, this season’s films celebrate the art and culture of Japan. The top-selling female artist in the world, Yayoi Kusama was an underdog with everything stacked against her: growing up in Japan during World War II, a dysfunctional family, sexism, racism, and mental illness. On the cusp of her 90s, she continues to pursue and be devoted to her art full time. Please note: masks and proof of COVID vaccination are required to attend this program.
