Details
Create an intuitive abstract collage on a gallery-wrapped canvas using acrylic paint, archival papers, matte medium, and mark-making techniques. Through guided exercises, demonstrations, and experimentation, students will explore layering, composition, color, texture, and visual movement while developing confidence in an intuitive creative process. No prior experience is required.

Meet your instructor: Mollie Jackson (she/her) is a Longmont-based abstract artist and the Summer 2026 Artist-in-Residence at the Firehouse Art Center. She earned her BFA from the University of Iowa and apprenticed under the Chair of Sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago at his contemporary art center. Today, she specializes in making intuitive, deeply expressive mixed-media art.
