Theory of Color
If you’re intimidated by color in creative work, join us to build confidence and find joy in working with color. This workshop introduces color theory and color psychology. We explore color relationships and the use of color in self-expression through activities that include mixing pigments and exploring harmonies. Whether you’re beginning or just want to brush up on your skills, we’ve got you!
Class Fee/Materials Fee: $80 includes materials
Skill Level: understanding of basic painting and art concepts
2 day workshop- 2 hours each day
Karrie Steely is an artist, instructor, and arts community builder. She is passionate about sharing the gifts of a lifelong commitment to creativity and curiosity. Collaborators, cohorts and students alike are inspired by her joy and enthusiasm.
Karrie’s award-winning artwork has been exhibited in Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas. So far, 2026 projects have included an artist residency at the Robert Henri Museum and Gallery where she taught workshops, leading community murals in Nebraska, and judging at the Nebraska State Fair. She was a 2023-2025 Rural Regenerator Fellow with Springboard for the Arts. She recently moved back to her native Colorado, where she continues to lead workshops and paint murals.
