On Saturday, November 14, 2026, trumpeter, composer, and educator Gavin Worland will debut the Warriors of Peace Jazz Orchestra (WPJO), a new 20-piece professional jazz ensemble, at The St. Vrain in downtown Longmont. The concert will be recorded live as the orchestra's debut album, Double Standard, giving audiences a rare opportunity to be part of the creation of a new jazz recording.
The evening will feature an entirely original program composed by Worland, exploring the contradictions, complexities, and unresolved questions of American history. Performed as a single, uninterrupted musical journey, Double Standard moves through themes of conflict, division, and reconciliation, ultimately seeking resolution through the collective power of a large jazz orchestra.
