Creatives Wanted!

The LDDA is seeking local creatives with mural-painting experience for an exciting project taking shape in Downtown Longmont! This project aims to fill some of the bare wall spaces on businesses backing up to the East alleyway with engaging public art. The murals will be unveiled to the public at the upcoming fall ArtWalk, and enjoyed by visitors and residents alike in Downtown Longmont's Creative District. Help make Longmont more creative!

Project: Seeking six creatives with prior mural experience to create six separate murals throughout the East alleyway adjacent to Main St. between 3rd and 6th Avenues. This project is sponsored by a Healthy Places for Healthy People grant, Longmont Downtown Development Authority, and local Longmont businesses.

Theme: Mural designs should be considered interactive, or able to engage individuals biking/walking in alleyway by taking pictures, etc. Murals should also promote the alleyway as a space for inclusive and dynamic artworks that reflect the community of Longmont. Murals will cover spaces on the walls of businesses backing up to alleyway.

Budget: Each muralist will receive a $1000 stipend for materials and completion of the project. Mural surface preparation will be completed prior.

Timeline: Murals should be completed by September 21st, 2019 to coincide with Fall ArtWalk.

Interested? Send a CV/portfolio with prior work examples and references to mersadi.mcclure@longmontcolorado.gov by August 19th, 2019, 9am for consideration.
