Pinewood Derby Art Car Competition and Exhibition $500 Prize for Winning Entry

In Conjunction with the Cars that Care Charity Pine Car Derby Event

Sponsored by Community Cares, Local Longmont Nonprofit

Event Location: Old Town Marketplace, 332 Main Street, Longmont Colorado 80501

Event Dates: Artist Reception and Exhibit: July 10, 6pm to 9pm

Pine Car Derby, Winner Announced, and Auction: Saturday July 25, 2020

 

Artist Compensation

$500 Prize For Winning Entry

All Entries may be included in the Silent Auction (50% profit to the Artist and 50% to charity.) Artist may decide whether to release an entry to Auction.

TIME IS SHORT!!

Submission Criteria

Using the entirety of a standard Pine Car Derby Kit, create an Art Car using any and all materials you so desire! Draw on your wildest imagination! Let your creativity run amok! Judges will select the most creative and beautifully executed entry for a Grand Prize of $500! Entries will be displayed from July 10th through the end of the month at Old Town Marketplace in Longmont, and Cars and Artists will be featured on the Channel 8 broadcast of the event.

Entries Must Be Delivered to Old Town Marketplace by Thursday July 9th for Participation in the Second Friday Exhibit.

Late Entries will be accepted until Noon MDT on Thursday, July 23, 2020.

Please include a short About the Artist statement with entry, including Social Media handles and Contact information.

All cars may be released for Silent Auction which will take place July 25, during the Cars That Care Event. Final Auction Amount will be divided with 50% to Artist and 50% to Charity. Artists will be notified of final sale amount on Monday, July 27th via email.

Required Pine Car Kits are available for purchase at Old Town Marketplace for $5. A kit must be used for the creation of your Art Car. Please pick up kits from Maldos Coffee and Boba Monday through Saturday between 11am and 6pm.

Any Cars which are not released or purchased at auction may be collected after July 31 at the Event Location. Any unsold entries remaining after August 15th will become part of our Permanent Collection.
