Call for Muralists - Georgia Boys BBQ

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This mural opportunity is presented by the Longmont Downtown Development Authority & Longmont Creative District in partnership with Georgia Boys BBQ. The mural will serve as a prominent, highly visible Eastern gateway feature welcoming visitors into downtown Longmont.

SIZE: Approximately 370 square feet, marked green in the photo.

COMPENSATION: $7,000 USD. This contract amount is inclusive of all costs associated with the project including, but not limited to: the artist’s design fee, other consultation fees, insurance (including Colorado Workers Compensation), tools, materials (including priming prior to painting), transportation during project completion, installation, equipment, travel to and from the site, per diem expenses, project documentation, 10% required contingency to cover unexpected expenses, and any other costs.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to muralists living or working in Boulder and Weld Counties. Priority consideration will be given to artists based in Longmont.

This project is open to all artists regardless of race, color, creed, gender, gender variance, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical disability. CREATIVE DIRECTION: There is no set theme or prescribed aesthetic for this project. We invite you to bring forward your own creative vision for the site. All artwork must be appropriate for a family-friendly, public environment.

SELECTION PROCESS: The selected artist(s) will be chosen by the Longmont Downtown Development Authority in collaboration with the property owners of 250 3rd Avenue.

DEADLINE: Application closes May 31, 11:59 PM.

NOTIFICATION: All applicants will be contacted with an update no later than June 5, 2026.
