Do you have old home movies rotting away in your closet, attic or basement? Not sure what to do with those ancient VHS or Beta tapes, Super 8 films, or even 16mm? You’re in luck!
Learn how to identify, store and digitize home movies, photographs, slides, audio recordings and digital media. Expert librarians and archivists from CU Boulder will share practical guidance for caring for your personal archives and ensuring they can be enjoyed for generations to come.
Then, experience a unique screening featuring home movies contributed by Longmont-area residents alongside archival footage documenting Colorado history from the collections of the University Libraries and the Longmont Museum.
The University Libraries will provide free digitization for the first 30 families to submit a video tape, home movie film or audio recording to the Longmont Museum front desk by Friday, Oct. 16. Limit one item per family. Your home film or video may be included in our Home Movie Day screening!
