Firehouse Art Center’s “Long Range” opens on January 14th, 2022, celebrating the art of four local artists.

Artist members at the Firehouse are an integral part of our community: supporting events as volunteers, contributing to exhibitions, participating in pop ups, and attending social artist gatherings, critiques and workshops. The Firehouse Art Center is committed to sharing thought provoking contemporary art with Boulder County, and we are proud to celebrate four artists exploring media and meaning in our own backyard. The Firehouse is honored to have Jane Burke as our juror for the show.

The exhibit’s title “Long Range” is Burke’s nod to Longmont and the Front Range, but also a comment on the ongoing commitment of these artists and the long-range goals of their practice.

“Although I did not select the artworks initially to be in dialogue with one another, the theme of landscape came to the surface organically.”

“Long Range” will be on exhibit from January 14th through March 6th, with the opening reception to be held from 6pm-9pm on the 14th. Dwayne Wolff, one of Firehouse’s resident artists, will be playing music at the event, with beverages provided by Left Hand Brewing Company.

“I am grateful to Firehouse Art Center and its members for this invitation to survey the work submitted. It is a testament to the vitality of Longmont’s artist community.”- Jane Burke
